One-room Schoolhouse
One-room Schoolhouse
For one academic year at the Taylor School, there were twenty-seven students, from first through eighth grade, in this single classroom. It was in active use from 1904 to 1954. Now, local classes come for a day of learning the old-fashioned way.
The bookcase was the school library. The upper grade desks had inkwells. The first graders learned to print with a pencil on paper.
